The Big Brute takes portable horizontal wood hogs to the next level. The machine is based upon WSM's proven 4064BH Horizontal Hogging System and features our time tested and tough "mill duty" construction. Designed for green waste, land clearing debris and whole tree reduction, The Big Brute converts your waste products into valuable wood fiber in a single pass.

The heavy duty design includes a Multi-Strand WD-110 feed chain, a Massive 44" diameter feed roll with aggressive serrated bars to provide a positive feed to the hog rotor. The 4064BH rotor is fully machined and features a 9.25" diameter main shaft, mounted on heavy-duty dual row spherical roller bearings in cast steel housings with removable support blocks. The open disc construction improves feed characteristics and allows the operator to change hammer patterns without having to weld and cut on the rotor assembly. With (24) 115 lb. replaceable tip rigid hammers secured by 3" diameter hammer pins, the rotor assembly weighs over 4 tons, providing the grinding capacity that severe applications require. Power is supplied from a Cat 3412E TTA motor producing 1,000 HP transmitted through a PT-Tech HPTO-20 wet clutch and Kevlar belts. The hog case is completely lined with replaceable wear liners, drilled and tapped for mounting through the exterior of the case with cap screws. WSM's unique pivoting rear housing provides unparalleled access to screens and hammers without having to crawl under the feed roll or into the hogging chamber. The Big Brute discharges onto a single flat-to-incline belt that comes standard with a magnetic head pulley which folds hydraulically for transport. An optional overhead, self-cleaning magnet can be provided for critical ferrous removal applications. The Big Brute: "Built to Grind; Built to Last."

The Big Brute features WSM's new Intellifeed proportional hydraulic controls. This PLC based system uses proportional hydraulic valves to infinitely vary in-feed system rates providing a constant flow of material through the hogging system at peak horsepower while optimizing throughput.
